Contact type, photoelectric type, and electromagnetic type are three kinds of encoders that rotate. In accordance with the format of their output, it can be classified into two kinds that are absolute and incremental. In the first category the incremental encoder, which is an encoder that is widely used in the business.
The incremental encoder consists of the code disc, light-emitting element, receiving element, and signal processing component. When the shaft turns it causes the wheel of code to spin. This way, light is transmitted via the engraved line. light does not travel into the chamber. The light that is transmitted is received by the receiving part and then fed to the signal processing unit to create a pulse output. The output signal usually comprises two phases: A and B (phase variation of 90deg). Certain encoders also produce a unidirectional one-second pulse Z per revolution, which is an analog reference zero. If the spindle is rotating in a clockwise direction it will output the signal from A channel. will precede that B channel's signal. When the spindle turns counterclockwise then The A channel signals are in front of the B channel. This is how we can determine if the spindle is moving in a direction that is forward or reverse.
